At the end of October 2002, international reserves made up LTL 7,847.4 million (USD 2,235.0 million, EUR 2,272.8 million). In the course of one month they increased by LTL 238.3 million, i.e. 3.1 per cent.
The main reason of the increase was net sales of the anchor currency by commercial banks to the Bank of Lithuania of LTL 278.2 million. The international reserves were slightly pushed down by the partial repayment of IMF loans by the Bank of Lithuania and the Ministry of Finance.
