At the end of July 2006, international reserves made up LTL 11,662.8 million (EUR 3,377.8 million, USD 4,286.7 million). In the course of one month they increased by LTL 107.7 million, i.e. 0.9 per cent.
International reserves expanded as a result of an increase in currency outside the Bank of Lithuania and other factors by respectively LTL 249.2 million and LTL 27.4 million, in addition to a rise in other monetary financial institution deposits with the Bank of Lithuania of LTL 22.4 million.
International reserves were pushed down by a contraction in Bank of Lithuania external liabilities and central government deposits with the Bank of Lithuania of LTL 121.0 million and LTL 70.4 million, respectively.
