At the end of February 2007, official reserve assets made up LTL 15,372.0 million (EUR 4,452.0 million, USD 5,862.9 million). In the course of one month they decreased by LTL 331.3 million, i.e. 2.1 per cent.
The contraction of the official reserve assets was determined by the decline of deposits of other monetary financial institutions and the central government with the Bank of Lithuania of LTL 316.9 million and LTL 196.8 million, respectively, and the decrease of Bank of Lithuania external liabilities of LTL 40.0 million.
The official reserve assets were pushed up by the increase of currency in circulation and other factors of LTL 173.8 million and LTL 48.8 million, respectively.
