Increased exports of goods led to a decrease in the current account deficit
Balance of Payments of the Republic of Lithuania March 2019
Today, the Bank of Lithuania published the balance of payments data for March 2019, which shows that the deficit on the current account balance decreased and stood at €12.5 million. This was driven by exports of goods which outpaced imports of goods (11.6% and 6.9% respectively). According to preliminary estimates, in January–March 2019 the current account balance deficit amounted to €50.1 million, or 0.5% of GDP.
