In preparation for Lithuania’s annual consultations under Article IV of the Articles of Agreement of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), a mission of the European Department of the IMF, arriving biannually, headed by Mr Christoph Klingen, a representative of this Department, will work in Lithuania on 4–15 May 2017.
The IMF experts will analyse the current macroeconomic situation in Lithuania and assess general economic development patterns, the situation in the financial sector and the implementation of social policy measures.
Meetings are planned with representatives of the Bank of Lithuania, the Ministry of Finance and other state institutions, as well as representatives of the private sector.
Lithuania has been a member of the International Monetary Fund since 1992. Currently, 189 countries are members of the IMF.
