In preparation for the 2018 consultations with the Republic of Lithuania under Article IV of the Articles of Agreement of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), an IMF mission, led by Borja Gracia, will begin work on 7–13 November.
The IMF experts will analyse the general macroeconomic situation in Lithuania, its economic development patterns, the situation in its financial sector, as well as the implementation of the draft state budget for the upcoming year and social policy measures.
In Vilnius the members of the IMF mission will meet with the Members of the Board of the Bank of Lithuania as well as representatives from the Supervision Service and the Economics and Financial Stability Service of the Bank of Lithuania, the Ministry of Finance, other state institutions, and the private sector.
Lithuania has been a member of the IMF since 1992. Currently, the membership of the IMF includes 189 countries.
