Balance of payments services report for Q1 2017
(Joint release by the Bank of Lithuania and Statistics Lithuania)
Taking into account the needs of data users, the Bank of Lithuania and Statistics Lithuania begin publishing detailed data on exports and imports of services, broken down not only by country but also by type of service. Results for Q1 2017 show that in Q1 2017, the surplus on the balance of services widened by EUR 145 million, or 32.3 per cent, year on year. The increase of the balance of services in the reference period stemmed from exports of services, which grew faster than imports (19.4 and 13.7% respectively). The bulk of exports and imports of services (59.4 and 55.1% respectively) consisted of transport services.
