Balance Sheet of Monetary Financial Institutions, March 2019
Today, the Bank of Lithuania published the monetary financial institution (MFI) balance sheet for March 2019, which shows that deposits of Lithuanian residents with credit institutions rose by €152.4 million over the month. Household, non-financial corporation, financial sector and general government deposits increased by €65.4 million, €59.1 million, €27.7 million and €0.2 million respectively. Overnight deposits of Lithuanian households and non-financial corporations with credit institutions increased by €46.7 million and €34.5 million respectively over the month. Loans granted by credit institutions to Lithuanian residents increased by €72.8 million over the month. Loans to Lithuanian households, the financial sector and non-financial corporations grew by €49.6 million, €20.1 million and €6.4 million respectively, while loans to general government contracted by €3.3 million. Loans for house purchase and consumption granted by credit institutions to Lithuanian households increased by €48.7 million and €1.9 million respectively, while loans for other purposes decreased by €1.0 million.
