Balance Sheet of Monetary Financial Institutions, April 2018
Today, the Bank of Lithuania published the monetary financial institutions (MFI) balance sheet for April 2018, which shows that deposits of Lithuanian residents with credit institutions rose by €297.2 million over the month. Non-financial corporations, general government and household deposits increased by €135.1 million, €114.7 million and €57.8 million respectively, while financial sector deposits scaled back by €10.4 million. Overnight deposits of non-financial corporations and households with credit institutions over the month grew by €129.6 million and €44.4 million respectively. Loans granted by credit institutions to Lithuanian residents increased by €214.9 million over the month. Loans to Lithuania’s non-financial corporations, households and the financial sector rose by €118.9 million, €63.4 million and €35.8 million respectively, while loans to general government shrank by €3.2 million. Loans for house purchase, consumption and other purposes granted by credit institutions to Lithuanian households increased by €44.8 million, €9.9 million and €8.8 million respectively.
