Balance Sheet of Monetary Financial Institutions, October 2017
Today, the Bank of Lithuania published the MFI balance sheet data for October 2017, which shows that deposits of Lithuanian residents with credit institutions rose by EUR 267.8 million over the month: household, non-financial corporation, general government and financial sector deposits increased by EUR 133.9 million, EUR 99.0 million, EUR 26.5 million and EUR 8.4 million respectively. Overnight deposits from households and non-financial corporations with credit institutions grew by EUR 132.7 million and EUR 95.6 million respectively over the month. Loans granted by credit institutions to Lithuanian residents increased by EUR 30.4 million over the month. Loans to households and non-financial corporations grew by EUR 26.7 million and EUR 13.8 million respectively, while loans to general government and the financial sector contracted by EUR 8.5 million and EUR 1.6 million respectively. Loans for house purchase and other purposes granted by credit institutions to households increased by EUR 101.6 million and EUR 3.0 million, while loans for consumption decreased by EUR 77.9 million.
