Deficit on the current account balance turns to surplus
Balance of Payments of the Republic of Lithuania June 2019
Today, the Bank of Lithuania published the balance of payments for June 2019, which shows that the current account balance, unlike last month, was in surplus, at €246.6 million. This resulted due to a significant contraction in foreign trade deficit and an increase in the surplus on the balance of services. A substantial decrease in imports (16.6%) compared to exports (2.2%) significantly reduced the deficit on the foreign trade balance, which ultimately stood at €17.9 million.
