Balance of Payments of the Republic of Lithuania September 2018

Today, the Bank of Lithuania published the balance of payments data for September 2018, which shows that the build-up of the €57.9 million deficit on the current account balance was driven by the negative balances of foreign trade and primary income that were not offset by the decreased but still positive balances of services and secondary income. With export and import of goods scaling down 11.2% and 4.9% respectively, the deficit on the trade balance increased 2.3 times, to stand at €271.1 million.
