For the first time, the Bank of Lithuania was acknowledged in the annual Central Banking Awards organised by Central Banking, an international journal on the world’s central banks and financial regulators.
This year the website of the Bank of Lithuania was named Website of the Year.
The strong point of the Bank of Lithuania website is its user-friendly information architecture. Rather than reflecting the organisational structure of the bank, the website is tailored to the needs of its target audiences: financial market participants and non-professional users. This contributes to easier navigation and helps find necessary information even faster. Unlike the old version of the website, the new one offers more visual content – infographics and dynamic videos, illustrating the main functions of the central bank. It is also mobile-compatible.
Even though the website was launched in April 2017, its development process is continuing: it is planned to create and feature more videos on financial education as well as personalise the presentation of statistical data.
Involving more than 100 employees of the Bank of Lithuania, the development stage took approximately 17 months. The project was carried out by the digital marketing and IT solution agency Kryptis.
