Bank of Lithuania starts publishing more data on lending to Lithuanian non-financial corporations and households
The Bank of Lithuania begins publishing quarterly data on corporations engaged in lending. The data will cover the period from the first quarter of 2015.
Corporations engaged in lending belong to the other financial intermediaries sector and provide leasing and factoring services. Payday loan companies and consumer credit providers lending their own funds rather than those attracted by third parties are excluded from this category.
On a quarterly basis, the Bank of Lithuania will publish data on outstanding amounts of loans granted by Lithuania’s corporations engaged in lending broken down by the debtors’ residence, thus distinguishing two main sectors that use services of these corporations, i.e. loans granted to Lithuanian non-financial corporations and households, as well as some other balance sheet items.
According to the data of the third quarter of 2018, the total value of loans granted by corporations engaged in lending amounted to €2,214 million. Almost all of the loans were granted to Lithuanian residents and their value accounted for 12% of total loans granted by Lithuanian monetary financial institutions to Lithuanian non-financial corporations, households and non-profit institutions serving households.
Detailed data is available on the Bank of Lithuania’s website under Financial corporations engaged in lending balance sheet statistics, dates for the releases of statistical information are available under Data release calendar and metadata can be found under the Methodology section.
