In May 2008, external assets of the Bank of Lithuania decreased by LTL 1.0 billion as a result of transactions to form LTL 15.1 billion at the end of the month, while external liabilities of the Bank of Lithuania grew by LTL 73.0 million to LTL 305.1 million.
In May, currency in circulation went down by LTL 208.7 million to LTL 8.9 billion at the end of the month. Resident deposits with the Bank of Lithuania declined by LTL 856.2 million to LTL 5.0 billion, central government deposits, as a result of transactions, decreased by LTL 453.2 million to form LTL 2.2 billion at the end of the month, while deposits of other MFI declined as a result of transactions by LTL 401.6 million to LTL 2.8 billion at the end of the month.
