In May 2007, external assets of the Bank of Lithuania went down by LTL 819.6 million as a result of transactions to form LTL 14.6 billion at the end of the month.
In May, currency in circulation decreased by LTL 119.2 million to LTL 8.3 billion at the end of the month. As a result of transactions, residential deposits with the Bank of Lithuania contracted by LTL 1.2 billion over the month to form LTL 4.8 billion at the end of the month. As a result of transactions, deposits of other MFIs contracted by LTL 486.4 million to equal to LTL 2.7 billion at the end of the month. At the same time, deposits of the central government dropped, as a result of transactions, by LTL 758.0 million as to form LTL 2.2 billion at the end of May.
In May, deposits of non-resident MFIs (banks) and non-MFIs (non-banks), as a result of transactions, increased by LTL 208.9 million and LTL 148.2 million, respectively. Consequently, external liabilities of the Bank of Lithuania went up by LTL 357.1 million in May to reach LTL 437.8 million at the end of the month.
