In July 2007, as a result of transactions, external assets of the Bank of Lithuania decreased by LTL 880.1 million to form LTL 14.7 billion at the end of the month, whereas external liabilities decreased by LTL 1.1 billion to LTL 76.5 million at the end of the month. The main reason of this shrinkage was that deposits of non-resident monetary financial institutions (MFIs) (banks) and non-MFIs (non-banks), as a result of transactions, contracted by LTL 1.1 billion and LTL 28.6 million respectively.

In July, currency in circulation went up by LTL 128.8 million to LTL 8.7 billion at the end of the month. As a result of transactions, residential deposits with the Bank of Lithuania climbed by LTL 127.7 million over the maonth to form LTL 5.2 billion at the end of the month. As a result of transactions, deposits of other MFIs grew by LTL 23.1 million to reach LTL 2.8 billion at the end of July. At the same time, deposits of the central government went up, as a result of transactions, by LTL 104.8 million to LTL 2.4 billion at the end of the month.
