In February 2008, as a result of transactions external assets of the Bank of Lithuania decreased by LTL 1.8 billion to form LTL 16.0 billion at the end of the month, while external liabilities went down by LTL 935.6 million to LTL 347.9 million.
In February, currency in circulation hiked by LTL 68.8 million to LTL 8.7 billion at the end of the month. Meanwhile, resident deposits with the Bank of Lithuania went down by LTL 999.3 million over the month, as a result of transactions, to form LTL 5.7 billion at the end of the month. Central government deposits decreased as a result of transactions by LTL 985.1 million to LTL 2.6 billion at the end of February, while deposits of other MFIs as a result of transactions slid by LTL 14.6 million to make up LTL 3.1 billion at the end of the month.
