In April 2006, the external assets of the Bank of Lithuania declined by LTL 96.1 million to LTL 11.2 billion at the end of the month. External assets decreased by LTL 105.0 million due to transactions.
Currency in circulation grew by LTL 214.8 million in April to LTL 6.8 billion at the end of the month. Resident deposits at the Bank of Lithuania declined over the month by LTL 252.9 million due to transactions to LTL 3.7 billion at the end of the month, of which deposits of other MFIs decreased by LTL 253.3 million due to transactions to LTL 2.0 billion at the end of the month.
Capital and reserves increased over the month due to transactions by LTL 31.6 million to LTL 912.3 million at the end of April.
External liabilities contracted by LTL 55.4 million in April to LTL 67.9 million at the end of the month. Deposits of non-resident MFIs (banks) at the Bank of Lithuania declined by LTL 105.6 million over the month, while non-MFI (non-bank) deposits grew by LTL 50.2 million.
