An increase in foreign trade deficit led to a deficit on the current account balance (CAB) of the country’s balance of payments for September 2010. After a surplus in August, a negative change in the CAB made up LTL 574.1 million. Meanwhile, the financial account balance on the September balance of payments was positive (LTL 324.4 million) largely due to a sizeable growth of the portfolio investment inflow to Lithuania and decreasing external assets under other investments.
The above data was released by the Statistics Department of the Bank of Lithuania.
