Today, Lietuvos bankas published the balance of payments for October 2025, which shows that:

the surplus on the current account balance (CAB) grew by 49.8%, compared to September, and amounted to €527.7 million. This development was mainly determined by primary income balance which turned from deficit to surplus (€6.1 million), largely as a result of the increased flow of European Union (EU) subsidies to Lithuania (see Chart 1). With a slight decrease in exports and imports of goods (by 2.1% and 2.4% respectively), the foreign trade deficit contracted by 4.3%, amounting to €509.9 million. With a fall in exports of services by 3.6% and a rise in imports by 7.0%, the surplus balance of services decreased by 14.3%, amounting to €956.7 million. The surplus on the secondary income balance increased from €38.3 million to €74.9 million;
