On 31 January, the Bank of Lithuania will issue into circulation the €2 commemorative coin dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Baltic States. The coin will be included in a numismatic set of circulation coins dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Restoration of Lithuania`s Independence. The presentation of the coin will be held at the Money Museum of the Bank of Lithuania at 11:00, 31 January 2018 (Totorių g. 2/8, Vilnius).
The event will host Vitas Vasiliauskas, Chairman of the Board of the Bank of Lithuania, Jana Vanaveski, Estonia’s Ambassador to Lithuania, Ivars Liepnieks, First Secretary at the Embassy of the Republic of Latvia, and Justas Petrulis, designer of the national side of the coin.
As of 24 January (8:00), the €2 commemorative coin (BU quality) and the numismatic set of circulation coins will be available for purchase via the e-shop at coins.lb.lt, as of 31 January – at the Bank of Lithuania cash offices (Žirmūnų g. 151, Vilnius or Maironio g. 25, Kaunas). Here you will also be able to exchange regular circulation coins into the new €2 commemorative coins.
€2 commemorative coins dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Baltic States were minted at the Lithuanian Mint. The total mintage is 1,000,000 pcs, of which 10,000 coins are BU quality: 5,000 pcs in a numismatic package and 5,000 pcs in numismatic sets of circulation coins.
