Bank of Lithuania
2004-04-15

Over one month reserve money went up by LTL 113.0 million, of which commercial bank balances on correspondent accounts and required reserves in foreign currencies increased by LTL 139.0 million and LTL 27.4 million, respectively, and currency in circulation declined by LTL 53.7 million.

Foreign assets and central government deposits went up in March by LTL 724.0 million and LTL 601.3 million, respectively. The main reason for the increase was the transfer of part of funds to central government accounts at the Bank of Lithuania from the EUR 600 million ten-year Eurobond placement in international markets.
