Over one month reserve money went up by LTL 273.0 million, of which currency in circulation, commercial bank balances on correspondent accounts and required reserves in foreign currencies increased respectively by LTL 216.6 million, LTL 49.2 million and LTL 3.7 million.Reserve money increased by LTL 1.1 billion owing to operations with central government institutions while operations with non-residents reduced reserve money by LTL 56.2 million, as did the net sale of foreign exchange by the Bank of Lithuania to commercial banks of LTL 766.2 million.
Foreign assets and central government deposits declined by LTL 517.3 million and LTL 613.9 million, respectively.
Over 2004 reserve money increased by LTL 461.3 million, of which currency in circulation and commercial bank required reserves in foreign currencies grew by LTL 457.4 and LTL 106.4 million, respectively, while balances on commercial bank correspondent accounts declined by LTL 106.3 million.Reserve money grew by LTL 2.2 billion owing to operations with central government institutions.The increase was offset by the net sale of foreign exchange to commercial banks of LTL 1.6 billion in 2004.
