Alliance led by the public relations company Publicum to help in organising provision of information on the euro
On 31 October the Bank of Lithuania signed an agreement with the alliance led by the public relations company Publicum on the purchase of services for the provision of information on the euro.
“Preparation for the introduction of the euro is going on, and one of the major tasks here is informing the general public in Lithuania about the single currency of the European Union and its impact on the domestic economy. Such knowledge about the euro will not only be useful to the people in the future when we adopt the euro but also today,” said Reinoldijus Sarkinas, Chairman of the Board of the Bank of Lithuania, on signing the agreement.
The alliance of UAB Publicum, UAB Lukrecijos reklama and UAB Media House became the winner of the tender announced by the Bank of Lithuania for the open project on the development and implementation of Lithuania’s Public Information and Communication Campaign for the Adoption of the Euro.
The agreement does not provide for a total financial scope of the project, as it will depend on the need for information services and the changing situation in relation to the process of the adoption of the euro.
The implementation of the agreement provides for educational information activities in close cooperation with the media and through direct communication channels.
The time framework, scope and intensity of public information measures for the adoption of the euro as undertaken by the Bank of Lithuania and other public institutions is determined by the potential date of the adoption of the EU single currency in Lithuania and the information stages based on the experience of other countries.
