On the occasion of its centenary, the Bank of Lithuania opened to the public the unique historical building in Kaunas (Maironio g. 25). We invite everyone to take guided tours.
The building of the Bank of Lithuania in Kaunas is a symbol of central banking in Lithuania and an interior and exterior landmark that symbolises the prosperity of Kaunas in the interwar period.
During the guided tours, visitors will get a chance to see the door of the money vault weighing more than 3 tonnes, admire impressive paintings by representatives of the interwar Kaunas Art School, visit the apartment of the former Prime Minister Augustinas Voldemaras boasting an 8-metre-high dome, see one of the oldest lifts in Kaunas and hear the stories about Vladas Jurgutis and the other governors of the Bank of Lithuania in the interwar period. The exhibition of the Money Museum of the Bank of Lithuania, supplemented with new exhibits, will offer a glimpse at a long and rich history of the Bank of Lithuania, money and banking.
