ATTENTION: Services at Lietuvos bankas cash offices are provided only to customers registered in Lietuvos bankas’ register of cash office customers. You can register at kasos.lb.lt/en. Once registered, no prior appointment is required.
  • Please have one of the following personal identification documents ready upon arrival: a passport, an ID card, or a driver’s licence issued in the European Economic Area.
  • You may be asked to provide documents proving the origin of the funds.
  • A buyer’s representative (other than the manager of a legal entity or another person acting in compliance with the legal entity’s founding documents) may purchase and collect numismatic items once a day, and only for a single buyer they represent.

The cash offices in Vilnius and Kaunas provide the following services:

  • Sell numismatic items
  • Exchange litas into euro
  • Exchange worn and damaged euro coins and banknotes
  • Provide expert examination of euro and litas (the request form can be found here (29 KB ))
  • Exchange euro banknotes and coins into circulation euro coins – no more than 5 rolls of one denomination per day per person
  • Exchange euro banknotes and coins into commemorative euro coins with the Lithuanian national side – no more than 5 rolls of the same coins per day per person
  • Exchange euro banknotes into larger or smaller denominations
  • Exchange euro coins into banknotes:
  • Exchange euro coins:
    • Euro coins are exchanged for persons who are entered in Lietuvos bankas’ register of cash office customers and have generated in their profile a service number (PIN code) using coin counting self-service machines;
    • A person may exchange coins free of charge within a calendar month, provided that the amount does not exceed €1,000. If this amount is exceeded, a 5% fee applies to the amount exceeding €1,000;
    • Funds are transferred to the bank account indicated by the customer on the same or following business day;
    • Up to 50 coins exchanged at the cash office can be disbursed in cash per person per business day (included in the €1,000 monthly limit);
    • For charity and support funds, religious communities, and centres, coins are exchanged without any restrictions on their number and free of charge.
