Obverse

The obverse of the coin features a stylised rider – an allusion to Vytis. It is surrounded by the inscription LIETUVA (LITHUANIA), denomination (100 litas), year of issue (2007), and the mintmark of the Lithuanian Mint.

Reverse

The reverse of the coin features a fragment of a transcription of the 16th c. Annals of Quedlinburg, spiraling from the centre to fill the coin’s centre. This is surrounded by the Latin inscription ANNALES QUEDLINBURGENSES and the year of the mention of the name of Lithuania – 1009.
