Obverse
The obverse of the coin features Vytis inside a shield together with a stylised bell, containing an excerpt from the national anthem: IŠ PRAEITIES TAVO SŪNŪS TE STIPRYBĘ SEMIA (LET YOUR SONS DRAW THEIR STRENGTH FROM OUR PAST EXPERIENCE), surrounded by the inscription LIETUVA (LITHUANIA), denomination (50 litas) and the mintmark of the Lithuanian Mint.
Reverse
The reverse of the coin features a portrait of Vincas Kudirka, surrounded by the inscription VINCAS KUDIRKA, 1858–1899 and the year of issue (1999).
