Reverse

The reverse of the coin features an image of an artist-Muse, symbolising Europe's cultural roots – Classical Culture – painting on an easel in the shape of Gediminas Castle – the symbol of Vilnius. In a circle is the inscription VILNIUS – EUROPOS KULTŪROS SOSTINĖ (VILNIUS – EUROPEAN CAPITAL OF CULTURE) and the year of issue (2009).
