Obverse

On the obverse of the coin, the centenary of the Lithuanian Olympic Movement is represented by the discus throw, shooting, swimming, and the modern pentathlon – sports in which Lithuanian athletes have won gold medals since the restoration of the country’s independence. Alongside are the inscription LIETUVA (Lithuania), the logo of the Lithuanian Olympic Committee and the mintmark of the Lithuanian Mint.

Reverse

The reverse of the coin employs artistic means to depict the Olympic flame as an allegory of the athletes’ strength and determination, with abstracted figures of the athletes alongside. Coin description

The year 2024 marks the centenary of the Lithuanian Olympic Movement: 100 years ago, our athletes competed for the first time in the VIII Summer Olympic Games in Paris, making Lithuania part of the international Olympic family. On the 100-year anniversary of the 1924 Olympics, the Summer Olympic Games are once again returning to France. This year, the host of the XXXIII Games will provide an exceptional platform for athletes representing 32 sports.

During the 100 years of the Lithuanian Olympic Movement, Lithuania has produced many talented athletes who are active members of the international sports community. Since the first Olympic Games, Lithuanian athletes have competed in a total of 27 sports (22 summer and 5 winter), and in 2024 we will debut in our 28th sport in Paris – breaking.

Individual embossed elements of the composition of the silver coin are colored using UV printing technology.

The Olympic Games are full of memorable moments, representing the power and joy of unity that sport brings.
