Obverse

The obverse of the coin features Vytis in a shield, surrounded by the inscription LIETUVA (LITHUANIA), year of issue (2011), denomination (50 litas), mintmark of the Lithuanian Mint, and a symbolic image of sails.

Reverse

The reverse of the coin illustrates one branch of Olympic sports – sailing. The inscriptions LONDONAS (LONDON) and 2012 are arranged in a semi-circle on the edge. A double (latent) image is incorporated into one of the sails on the left side of the coin. When the coin is viewed at a certain angle, the image elements can be seen: the logo of the National Olympic Committee of Lithuania and the number XXX.
