Obverse

The obverse of the coin features a stylised Vytis, surrounded by the inscription LIETUVA (LITHUANIA), year of issue (2016), denomination (€20), and the mintmark of the Lithuanian Mint.

Reverse

The national flags on the reverse of the coin are arranged in the chronological order of the recognition of the State of Lithuania after declaration of its Independence in 1990. Special attention is given to Iceland, which was the first country to recognise Lithuania’s Independence. The reverse also bears the logo of the United Nations (UN). Lithuania joined the UN on 17 September 1991.
