The Bank of Lithuania closely cooperates with EU and international financial institutions and takes an active part in their activities. Together with the European Central Bank and the central banks of EU Member States, it tackles key financial and economic issues. The Bank of Lithuania also represents Lithuania in the International Monetary Fund and maintains a close relationship with the Economic and Financial Affairs Council (commonly known as the ECOFIN Council) and the European Commission.
