Countercyclical Capital Buffer

The countercyclical capital buffer (CCyB) is a macroprudential policy measure intended to protect the financial system against potential losses in case of cyclical systemic risk or during periods of economic downturn or stress. The Bank of Lithuania reviews the CCyB rate each quarter in view of the situation in the financial and real estate sectors.
