Goal
Bank of Lithuania Working Papers are intended for the preliminary circulation of original contributions to the applied economic research. Opinions expressed by the authors do not necessarily represent an official position of the Bank of Lithuania.

Submission guidelines
Submissions to the Working Paper Series should be sent by email to the Head of the Economic Research Division of the Economic Department (ivetlov@lb.lt). The authors (or at least one co-author) of a submitted manuscript should be employees of the Bank of Lithuania or representatives of other institutions, who prepared the submitted paper during their stay at the Bank of Lithuania. The manuscripts of other authors may be submitted to the Bank of Lithuania Working Paper Series, if the papers were prepared as a part of research projects initiated by the Bank or were presented at the workshops and conferences organized by the Bank. Priority is given to contributions in the areas corresponding to the research priorities of the Bank of Lithuania. The submitted paper should be original, i.e. never published before. Manuscripts must be in English. They should be written clearly and concisely. The size of a manuscript is not defined, but it is desirable that it is no more than 12,000 words in length, including notes and references.
Recommended structure of an article:
- Title of the paper
- Information about the author (author’s name and email address)
- Author’s affiliations (the addresses of institutions, unless it is the Bank of Lithuania)
- Table of contents
- Abstract (up to 200 words) accompanied by keywords and JEL (Journal of Economic Literature) classification
- Body text (e.g. introduction, literature review, research methodology, description of the data, results, conclusions)
- Appendix (if needed)
- Summary of the article in Lithuanian
- References
Recommended format requirements for the Bank of Lithuania Working Papers (except for submissions in LaTeX ):
- Paper size: A4; all margins must be set at 2.5 cm
- Section headings: Heading 1, Arial narrow 14 bold.
- Subsection headings: Heading 2, Arial narrow 12 bold.
- Sections and subsections are numbered using Arabic numerals. The dot is put after a numeral.
- 1 blank line is left above and below the section/subsection heading.
- Abstract, body text, appendix, summary (in Lithuanian): Times New Roman 11, Justified, 1.2 spacing, no gap between paragraphs; 1st line should be indented by 0.5 cm, except in the paragraph following the header.
- Footnotes: must be numbered, Times New Roman 10, Justified, single spacing, no gap between paragraphs, 1st line should be indented by 0.5 cm.
- Tables and figures: must be properly captioned and numbered using Arabic numerals, sources must be provided (if any); the body text must include references to the tables and figures.
- Tables and figures: Times New Roman 11 bold, a space must be inserted after the number of the table/figure and no dot; one line before and after the caption of the table/figure; references of the table/figure: Times New Roman 10 bold, Justified, single spacing, one line after the references.
- References should be provided in alphabetical order according to the surname of the 1st author (or the name of the institution) in Times New Roman 11, Justified, 1.2 spacing, no gap between paragraphs; all lines, except the 1st line of each reference, should be indented by 0.5 cm.
- Referencing should follow the Chicago Referencing Style (APA, Vancouver, Harvard Referencing Styles are also allowed).
