Goal
The principal goal of the Visiting Researchers’ Program is to attract Lithuanian and foreign economists to carry out research on the Lithuanian economy and strengthen the interaction of the Bank staff members with the research community outside the Bank.
Conditions
The Bank of Lithuania invites researchers willing to conduct research at the Bank of Lithuania either on an individual basis or in cooperation with the staff of the Bank. The Bank of Lithuania offers research-conducive environment, library, database and computing facilities. The Visiting Researchers’ Program is coordinated by the Economic Research Division. During their stay at the Bank, visiting researchers are expected to prepare research papers on agreed topic(s) and participate in the internal and public research seminars, workshops and conferences organized by the Bank of Lithuania. Visiting researchers will receive wage compensation according to the Bank of Lithuania’s remuneration treatment. Depending on the research project workload, the duration of stay at the Bank may vary from 2 to 12 months.
Research priorities of the program:
- Development and estimation of dynamic stochastic general equilibrium model for Lithuania
- Factor models and short-run forecasting models
- Automatic fiscal stabilizers and fiscal rules
- Development of macro stress testing model
The application for participation in the program must be submitted in English or Lithuanian and accompanied by the most recent CV, a list of publications and a brief research proposal (2–3 p.). The proposal should specify the goals of the proposed research, the research methodology, data and computing facilities necessary to conduct the research, the expected results of the research, and the time needed to implement the project.
