10 litas banknote

Front. On the right side of the banknote are the portraits of the pilots Steponas Darius and Stasys Girenas, Lithuanian national heroes. At the top is the inscription LIETUVOS BANKAS (BANK OF LITHUANIA), and at the bottom of the banknote DESIMT LITU (TEN LITAS). On the left of the portraits is the year of issue 2001, the signature of the Chairman of the Board of the Bank of Lithuania and the inscription LIETUVOS BANKO VALDYBOS PIRMININKAS (CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF THE BANK OF LITHUANIA). The front of the banknote bears orange, green, violet and blue colours.
Back. The drawing on the back represents the plane "LITUANICA" above the Atlantic Ocean, outlines of the American and European continents and the waves of the ocean. At the bottom of the banknote is the inscription DEŠIMT LITŲ (TEN LITAS). The back of the banknote bears light brown, violet and blue colours.
Size of the note: 135mmx65 mm. The designer of the banknote is Giedrius Jonaitis.
New Notable security features of the banknote:

1. A strip printed in iridescent inks to the right of the portraits visible when the banknotes are tilted towards the light at an acute angle, with emerging inscription LTL 10.
2. Latent numerals the denomination numeral 10 printed twice on the iridescent strip, which becomes visible when tilting the banknote to the light at an acute angle.
Note the new 10 litas banknotes of 2007 issue do not have a microperforated numeral 10.
