Front. On the right-hand side the note bears a double portrait of pilots S.Darius and S.Girenas, national heroes of Lithuania, and the inscription of their names S.DARIUS and S.GIRENAS The top ornamental band has a denomination numeral 10 on the left and the inscription LIETUVOS BANKAS (Bank of Lithuania) in the centre. There are two numerals 10 on the left and on the right sides of the bottom ornamental band with the inscription DESIMT LITU (Ten Litas) positioned between them. A year of issue 1997, orange contoured numeral 10, inscription LIETUVOS BANKO VALDYBOS PIRMININKAS (Chairman of the Board of the Bank of Lithuania) and his signature are placed to the left off the portrait. The front of the note contains yellow, blue, orange and green colours.

Back. TThe back of the note shows plane "Lituanica" flying over the Atlantic ocean, the coat of arms of the Republic of Lithuania, denomination numeral 10 repeated three times and inscription DESIMT LITU (Ten Litas). The back of the note contains yellow, blue and green colours.

Size of the note: 135mmx65 mm. The designer of the banknote is Giedrius Jonaitis.

Security features of the banknote:

1. Paper of white colour, non- fluorescent under ultraviolet light.
2. Watermark - Vytis, image of the coat of arms of the Republic of Lithuania.
3. Security thread with the repeated microtext LIETUVOS BANKAS 10 LTL.
4. Visible fibres of red, blue and green colour. The green and red fibres fluoresce under ultraviolet light.
5. Raised intaglio printing of the portrait, ornamental bands, denomination numerals and inscriptions on the front of the note provides a tactile surface easily distinguished by touch.
6. A repeated microtext LIETUVOS BANKAS (Bank of Lithuania) is printed in the line above the bottom ornamental band and a repeated microtext 10LB is printed on the right-hand side of the band. The microtexts can be read through a magnifying glass.
7. Recognition sign for the blind - a raised isosceles triangle.
8. See through feature front to back in perfect register.
9. Latent image (denomination numeral 10) in the left-hand side of the bottom ornamental band, to the right off the numeral 10.
10. Elements, intended for the anti-colour copier protection: multi-coloured top and bottom edges, background of the portrait, security line structure, specific fine line patterns.
11. The orange contour of the numeral 10 and its ornament fluoresces in yellow colour under ultraviolet light.
12. Vertical serial number fluoresces in light green colour under ultraviolet light.
13. Rectangle with the denomination numeral printed in invisible inks in the centre of the note fluoresces in light green colour under ultraviolet light.
14. Reddish leaves of the see-through mark on the front of the note fluoresce yellow under ultraviolet light.
