November 30, 2016 The data for the third quarter of 2016 shows that the credit union sector is operating at a loss this year – EUR 4.4 million in losses were incurred. The loss-bearing activities were due to a further decline in credit union income and rise in expenses. The Bank of Lithuania, in preparation for the restructuring of credit unions, is carrying out a review of credit unions’ asset quality.
November 28, 2016 The Bank of Lithuania's holdings of debt securities issued by euro area residents increased by EUR 431.8 million, while loans to euro area residents decreased by EUR 2.7 million over the month. These indicators amounted to EUR 5.9 billion and EUR 543.0 million respectively at the end of the month.
